Rolling Rolls

about

Steel and cast iron rolls are used throughout the metalworking industry.

In rolling shops, rolls are supplied after thermal treatment. The mechanical characteristics and hardness of the rolls are regulated. For example, rolls

  • made of steel grade 9HF must have a hardness of HB241-285;
  • made of carbon steel 55—HB215 - 255;
  • rolls made of steel grade 9X2MF — HB 352 -429.

Grade lines for hot rolling are usually equipped with rolls made of various grades of cast iron.

For rolling aggregates of fine and medium rolling, rolls are provided from cast iron SPHN-60 (chemical composition with % content of elements: C - 3.9; Si - 0.7; Mn - 0.8; P - 0.5; Cr - 0.16; Ni - 0.4—1.0; Mo - 0.6—1.2). Their hardness is selected according to Shore 60—70.
